The Los Angeles Review of Books January 23, 2017
The Los Angeles Review of Books’ (LARB) Brad Evans, recently sat down with Gallery House artists Gottfried Helnwein in a series discussing the question of violence. Gottfried Helnwein is the second person in a serious of dialogues with other artists, writers, and critical thinkers to discuss this topic. Gottfried Helnwein talks about his childhood, and memories of a post world war II Vienna where he was born. He goes on to talk about how learning about crime tribunals shaped his view on society, and how he turned to art as a way to communicate feelings that society doesn’t want to talk about.
