Gallery House Featured in TO Live with Culture

GalleryHouse-TO-2

Gallery House throws open its doors April 6 for a group show featuring skyrocketing local artists Ray Caesar, Anita Kuntz and Brian Richer (Castor Design), along with international gallery alum, Catherine Howe (the star of this show) and Joe Fenton.

Gallery owner Belinda Chun has boosted her artists’ careers by focusing on the international market and partnering with other galleries and dealers around the world and even here at home (she has teamed with Neubacher Shor Contemporary). In recent weeks, Gallery House artists have shown in New York, Hong Kong and Los Angeles with a Vienna exhibition for Gottfried Helnwein on the horizon for May.

Chun acknowledges that her job is heavily administrative, in addition to hustling new opportunities: “We deal with high-demand, highly collectible artists and distribute their work around the world,” she says, “and that creates a lot of paperwork involving legal, shipping, framing, curatorial considerations. In April alone we have four international shows so there’s a lot of coordinating to do.”

A happy team gathers to keep in touch and admire the finished space it has been a two year long project with a tight budget– it’s a miracle the project came to a close.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved helping make our dreams a reality. Please continue to scroll down through the past weeks for more dramatic before and after shots. You’ll see many DYI projects that were always checked with our general contractor Lewitt Construction with Ed and his team who came to the rescue after construction costs were increasing and made sure everything was done right!
