A happy team gathers to keep in touch and admire the finished space it has been a two year long project with a tight budget– it’s a miracle the project came to a close.

A big THANK YOU goes out to everyone involved helping make our dreams a reality. Please continue to scroll down through the past weeks for more dramatic before and after shots. You’ll see many DYI projects that were always checked with our general contractor Lewitt Construction with Ed and his team who came to the rescue after construction costs were increasing and made sure everything was done right! Ed was available at all times of the day even answer text in the evening when his portion of the project was complete.  Further Lewitt Construction was still available and always in touch. A thank you BBQ to follow for all the Lewitt Team and all those involved in the build and drawing to be announced soon.  And a special thanks to Kevin, Danny, Flavio, Tony, Jon TJ, JT and everyone who works at the Home Hardware – Morrow Avenue location over the past year.

A very special nod to our family Marge & John McFadyen; Rowena & Robert Chun (especially Robert –who has been working tirelessly for many months on the weekends with oh so many DIY projects!!)

To our friends and family who came and helped on on many endless weekends especially when we had no heat in the winter months… you know who you are… Elijah (who came practically every weekend for two months straight and helping to move us! A true Regina boy), Brad for enduring spray painting, Summit multiple projects mostly installation of the hard wood floor help, Joe Knight endless early morning visits and consultation on proportion and advice, Roark Andrade for assisting with the move and Adam Harris for demolition and moving help, Melanie & Alex — our neighbours and amazing star studded Chef and Pastry Chef, The Belljar staff for allowing us to use their tap water to clean up & the yummy food and atmosphere– Lisa, Jeff & The Belljar Team, Katherine Mellin spontaneously caring for our dog Chi while we worked away, Gordon Potainer for deck building help, Steve Otvos for demolition and Andrew Chun for hard wood and drywall and other projects.

Week 52 – Getting Organized

After weeks of looking for tools, we’re finally organized. We wanted to hold off as long as we could just focusing and working on the projects at hand, framing, insulating and later making desk from the left over scrap wood. But drywall proved to be too difficult to do on our own so we needed to wait until friends were available to help. So in the meantime we cleaned up and built this desk. Yet another great example of how the how to youtube video’s payed off.
